Castiel the Huntsman, Rise of the Warlords Prologue and Chapter One.

Castiel The Huntsman
Rise of The Warlords
Prologue
Ever since the beginning of man there has been speculation on how everything came to be into being. The question has never been truly answered... not until now.
There was once a civilization long before ours and further back than anyone could remember, the stories are all that remain. In the beginning there was not what they say there was, there were the oldest of mythical creatures... the dragons. The dragons never waged war or fought for control of anything, there was nothing, well not until they decided to create it. They first created the moon and the stars to light the blackened sky. Then they made the Earth and all of it's wonderful elements. Then they felt the planet to be to cold so they conjured a fireball in the distance to warm the planet but not close enough to scorch it. This still was not enough for them and soon developed a beautiful rock to fill the night as the day was dominated by the fire, the night would be dominated by the ice. We have come to call these the sun and the moon. But still it was not enough so they gathered to converse at what else they should do. They figured that since they could create something this complicated why not go a step further and create life itself.
This is how we, Humanity, finally came into being along with everything we know. For millions of years we and the dragons lived in tranquility. They taught us everything we needed to know to survive. Dragons loved their creation so much that they bestowed us with the gift of free will. Humanity evolved and during this evolutionary phase they began to contemplate that those that have created them could also destroy them.
So because of that fear, humanity silently fell into mass confusion and the tranquility between the two slowly slipped away. Humans began to make weapons in secret to completely annihilate the dragon race. Sadly though, when the humans began their conquest the dragons did not have the heart to kill those of what they have created. After many years, the dragons began to dwindle on the brink of extinction and not long after did they disappear completely from the land.
Humanity had finally claimed the land for themselves and eliminated the dragon menace. However, some believe that humanity did not eliminate them all and began to believe that they were just simply in hiding. So because of these rumors, humanity began searching for any evidence of their existence and found none. Finally, they claim to have been victorious in destroying them and forever documents them in history as being extinct. They erase all evidence of them to have ever existed. This is why in our history they are recorded as being a fabeled and mythical creature.
Since the land was ridden of the leaders of humanity, their world began to collapse around them and the land was cast into a endless array of chaos. At this time five well respected brothers of intellectual value rose up to lead the people out of the chaos. They all agreed that the land was to great for any one man to control, so they came up with a plan and they decided to split the land into five seperate parts consisting of Forum, Aqua, Silex Silicis, Silva, and Bestia Regnums (Kingdoms). All of them came up with the conclusion that each kingdom should have a profession that the others relied on so that the power between the kingdoms would be completely divided.
This marked the beginning of a new age and peace was restored to the land. After many generations passed and the bloodlines of the five brothers began to reign, they began to forget the purpose as to why they are where they are. The five brothers cast aside their purpose and betrayed the people by becoming tyrants. Each of the five kingdoms had their own armies and because the kings did what they did, each general of each army met together in secret. They discussed of what they should do. Finally, they all decided to rebel against the kings in the best interest of the people. They took those loyal to them and left the armies and started a revolution. Due to the ruthless tyrannical rule and the kingdoms being at war... the land was once again driven back into chaos.
Luckily for them... fate has decided that there would be a unexpected hero whose destiny was to restore tranquility to the land....
Chapter 1
Castiel
The doors to the kings chamber burst open. "What is it Zarzen?", asked the king as a man hurriedly approached him. He then bowed and replied, "A man named Alaster has asked for a audience with you my lord. He says he has information about your future." "Very well, let him in." Zarzen then turned around and left in a flash and a few moments later reappeared with another man. He was a old man, wearing white robes decorated with dragon paintings and weilding a oridnary walking stick. Alaster had a slight smile on his face then calmly said, "My name is Alaster my lord and it is very nice to meet you Yvain." " Wait outside Zarzen," said Yvain. Zarzen then turned and closed the doors to the throne room behind him. "Are you the prophet Alaster?," asked Yvain. "Indeed I am," replied Alaster. "So then this information is... what a prophecy?" " Indeed it is.... Eighteen years henceforth, there will be a child who will grow up to be the young man who defeats you and your brothers and crumble the kingdoms of your forefathers. Fortunatley for you, on this night I know exactly where the boy will be and with the aid of Zarzen and his brother, I will show them where they can dispose of him." "Why do you want to help me? What do you gain from this?" "I am a prophet and I tell prophecies and you are my king after all." Then Alaster let out a small laugh. "But of course... if my help is not wanted...," As he began to say and turned around to leave. "Very well then," beckoned Yvain. He then yelled for Zarzen's return. The doors opened once more and Zarzen appeared before him. "You are to take Alaster, your brother Siex, and three other men to where Alaster guides you to, you must not fail me Zarzen." "Yes my lord," replied Zarzen. Then he and Alaster began to walk away. They found Siex waiting outside the doors in the hall, "Find Flaven, Jias, and Raizon and prepare six horses for our departure." "Yes brother," and Siex hurriedly set off.
Once they were alone Alaster began asking questions. "So Zarzen, I must say, you look like a most capable man. How do you feel about your king?" "What do you mean by that?," spat out Zarzen. "Nothing really, I just wanted to know if you agree with his motives, that's all." "He is my king and as such it is not my place to question him. "Even if he orders you to to savagely kill innocent people for self preservation?" Zarzen looked at Alaster most unexpectedly. They then began to walk to the courtyard. Zarzen then finally replied, " The kings of this realm are in place to protect the people, to guide and serve them. This is their duty and this is what their predecessors founded the kingdoms on. So to answer your question Alaster... no I would not massacre innocents at a beckons call. I would however stand up to those who would seek to usurp the balance of peace." "Well said Zarzen. There is a phrase that I think you would be most interested in." "What's that?" Alaster let out a small sigh and smiled. "Thy people should not fear their leaders, but for the leaders to fear their people. This was what the predecessors founded the kingdoms on." Zarzen smirked a little, "They were right."
Soon after they arrived at the courtyard. Flavien, Jias, Raizon, and Siex were already preping their horses. "Good you are already here," called out Zarzen as he and Alaster approached them. "We are ready when you are General." replied Jias. Zarzen and Alaster walked over to their horses that were conviently positioned in front of the other four. They mounted and Zarzen looked at his brother and the three others, then turned to Alaster. "Lead the way." Alaster looked up towards the sky and smiled as he asked Zarzen, "You aren't afraid of lightning are you?" Then suddenly flashes began to light the night sky and it began to pour rain. "We are headed along the east path that leads to Bestia, that is where we will find what we are after." Alaster set the pace and out they went into the thounderous night.
Not too long after did they spot a man in the distance. They galloped to a slow stop with Zarzen at the head and Alaster right behind followed by the other four. Zarzen dismounted and looked up at Alaster. Alaster gave a nod signaling that this was the man they were after. He turned back to the figure and called out. The man gave no notion to have heard him. He kept approaching. Zarzen then drew his sword and began marching forward to meet him. Once close enough he called out again. The man stopped and looked up at Zarzen. "Please sir, we need to get out of this dreaded rain, do you know where there is shelter?" Ignoring the question Zarzen asked, "Who are you?" The man replied, "My name is Servus. Please sir, we need to get out of this wea...." He was cut off by Zarzen. "Why do you keep referring to we?" Servus motioned to his cloak. Zarzen stepped cautiously towards him and took a look. He saw a newborn child curled up in his arms fast asleep. Zarzen stepped back, sheathed his sword, and ran back to Alaster. Once near he asked, "Is this surely the man?" Alaster replied, "No, it isn't," he then smiled and continued to say, "It's the child."
"You led us here to kill a child?!," cried out Zarzen. "I merely guided you to this point to make a decision Zarzen," replied Alaster, "To kill him or not is enitrely up to you." Zarzen looked back at Servus who was still waiting on the road, then back at Alaster. "I will not!," he screamed. The words echoed over the thunder and into the ears of his men. They dismounted and came forward to where Alaster and Zarzen were. "Is there a problem?," asked Raizon. Zarzen turned to him and replied, "I will not be this boy's executioner, nor will I let this innocent die tonight." "Then we have a problem Zarzen," answered Flaven. Siex stepped forward and stood by his brother's side. "You have no right to disobey your king," spat out Jias. Zarzen quickly remarked, "No righteous king would ever ask of this! I am not a murderer!" Jias turned his attention to Alaster who was silently watching the events at hand. "And where does your allegiance lie... Prophet?" Alaster smiled and said, "I am merely just a pawn that has done exactly what he was sent here to do." Suddenly a white flash engulfed Alaster and he disappeared. They turned their attention back to Zarzen and Siex.
Servus quietly made his way to them. "Please, the shelter..." he asked as he looked upon them all. "Stay back!," cried Zarzen as he drew his sword. Siex drew his and positioned himself between Zarzen and Servus. By this time Jias, Flaven, and Raizon have drawn their own swords. Raizon and Flaven then rushed Zarzen to the side and made a opening for Jias to attack Siex. Zarzen repelled their attacks and managed to knock Raizon down. He quickly disarmed Flaven and kicked him away. He managed to buy himself enough time to glance at Jias and Siex who were now dueling. Jias overwhelmed Siex and knocked him to the ground and put his sword straight through Siex's arm. "Noooo!," cried Zarzen. He began to run towards Jias but was thawrted by Flaven and Raizon who knocked him to the ground. They bound his hands behind his back and moved him next to Siex who was bleeding mortally. Raizon took a knife from his waist and put it up to Zarzen's neck. Jias laughed histerically and spat, "And I had thought more of you Zarzen. Pathetic!"
He turned toward Servus and pulled out his sword from Siex. Meanwhile Servus was smiling as Jias approached him. He thrust it into Servus's chest. Jias, Flaven, Raizon, and Zarzen couldn't believe what they saw. When Jias struck Servus he evaporated into nothingness and was gone. All that remained was the child. Jias ignored what happened and positioned his sword over the baby. Just as he was about to strike the child, he heard a howl. Directly in front of him was a black wolf, and it wasn't too far away.
Jias decided to ignore the wolf suspecting it was just passing by, but as he tried to strike the baby again he noticed another howl and looked up to see that the wolf was slowly approaching him. "Flaven!," he called. Flaven rushed over to him. "Kill it!" Flaven brandished his sword and charged at the wolf. He slashed at the wolf and it dodged and within seconds it took down Flaven and it punctured his neck. The wolf howled once more. "Raizon!," cried jias who was now on his feet. "Grab your bow!" Raizon threw Zarzen to the muddied ground, fetched his bow from his mount and ran to Jias's side. "Shoot it." Raizon took aim and out of nowhere came a white arrow that struck Raizon dead and he fell to the ground. Jias looked down and saw that the arrow disappated. He looked back towards the wolf and saw that there was now a man by it's side. Jias knew he was outmatched so he ran off the road and vanished into the night.
The man picked up the baby and walked towards Zarzen. He cut his binds and turned his back to him. Zarzen once freed looked over his brother who was now inching death. The man said, " Alaster will be along momentarily." "Wait?...," cried Zarzen. The man ignored him and walked into the stormy night with the wolf at his side. The baby was now awake and was pearing back at Zarzen and the last thing he saw was a blinding white light flash in the distance.
