The elf that came to visit 2

A letter arrived at my pillow

It was from Thonor the elf

I quickly jumped from my bed

So happy with myself

I have but one more day

To make clean this place

Oh I am so happy

My hearts all of a race

I finished all my chores

Baked some Christmas pies

I knew this time I need not spot

The elf I know was  wise

I heard a gentle tapping

The door I opened wide

There he stood my little elf

I invited him inside

Sit down by my fire

Warm your hands and toes

When your feeling comfortable

Tell me what you know

That day I came to visit

Santa Claus was mad

He scolded me severely

Told me I was bad

I told him I was sorry

His mood began to melt

We sat and talked for quite a while

I told him how I felt

You silly elf Santa said

You only had to say

That things have become too much for you

And you wanted time to play

He said that working all year round

Was coming to an end

And I could have at least one day

To come and see my friend

I made him some hot chocolate

We shared some warm mince pies

We made each other laugh that much

Tears fell from our eyes

Thonor the elf went very quiet

When the mantle clock struck 10

His eyes began to water

 A sadness came over then

What’s the matter I gentle spoke

 You don’t seem yourself

He replied in a stuttering voice

I am but just an elf

We spoke of what my life was like

In my home just here

He listened with a smiley face

 Wiping his very last tear.

I don’t want to leave

I want to stay right here

I told him that he must go back

To help the Christmas cheer,

Then suddenly a knock did sound

Upon my snowy door,

Another elf I declare,

There’s always room for more

Elden is my name he said

My friend I’ve come to see

The visit that he made last year

He told about to me

Elden walked into the room

Thonor squealed delight

Happy that his 2 best friends

Could share his fun this night

I’ve not come here to play tonight

Rudolph’s lost his nose

Do you know its whereabouts

A question I must pose

That cheeky Elf then bowed his head

Stifling a grin

He pulled it from his pocket

Handing it to him

Oh Thornor, Elden said

What are we going to do

Your always playing silly tricks

A silly Elf are you

I think its time I took you home

You’ve had your time to play

Its time to load the presents

On to santa’s sleigh

|Once again we say goodbye

Our time together ends

Our bond forever closer

Always to be friends

Looking forward once again

To another year gone past

When I hear a gentle tapping

On my door at last
