The Failed Wedding

The Failed Wedding

There were stairs up to the attic of the old home, they were made inside the ceiling so you had to pull a string to be able to open it. After pulling that string you had to pull down the actual stairs that were attached to the attic door. The room had been left untouched for quite some time, you could tell this by all the dust that was released when you opened the door. Each step on the stairs made a loud cracking sound as if they would break right underneath your feet.

The attic was rather large for a home this size, cobwebs could be seen in every corner of the room. Boxes sat on the floors covered in dust and some even had mold on them telling you there was a leak somewhere and water had been making it’s way into the home. The room was pitch black but had a small amount of light lingering into the room from a small window on the opposite side of the room. The light from the outside world was being blocked from coming into the dark damp room by a large figure. After letting yours eyes adjust to the darkness this figure could be made out as a person. Above her head was a rope attached to the ceiling to keep her body from falling to the floor next to the fallen chair that seemed to be quite old.

The girl wore a nice white gown that complemented her figure well, though it was now covered in the dried blood that had once dripped from her wrists onto this gown and the floor under her. The chair also had figments of dried blood on it in a few places. Her eyes were open staring down at the floor in front of her swinging body.

On her left hand was a ring, this ring wasn’t only a fashion statement, it was a promise someone had made to her long ago. A promise they couldn’t keep. This girl was named Kaylin Marilyn. She was a twenty three year old that was meant to be married to a soldier that had died in the war before he could keep his promise to her. This was the price she had to pay to finally be with her lover and feel joy again. She had taken the razor and rope and finished the job. Now up in the old dusty attic, years after her true death, she was finally found. She was taken down from her unholy throne and placed into the earth hand in hand with her lover.

Happy at last.
