Faith, Understanding, and the Human Journey of Self-Deception

Faith, Understanding, and the Human Journey of Self-Deception

"Truth is that which, even when hidden from sight, awakens the light within the heart. And falsehood is that which, disguised in words, blinds the self." — Dr. Shakira Nandini

In the architecture of the human mind, faith, observation, and doubt are three fundamental pillars that shape an individual's thought patterns, behavior, and collective role in society. Some people desire to understand the silent language of nature, some seek paths by looking within, and others get lost in superficial sounds and appearances. These different mental tendencies cause the human world to revolve around the spheres of knowledge, conscience, and hypocrisy.

There are individuals who accept their inner feelings and invisible truths. They believe that not everything can be known—some truths are only meant to be felt. These people are intrigued by the mysteries of life, practice self-restraint, and use their abilities and resources for the welfare of others. Their faith transcends mere observation; their loyalty lies not just in what is seen, but also in what is felt beyond vision. Such individuals walk a path where consciousness, understanding, and acceptance blend into deep insight.

On the other hand, there are those who remain unaffected by anything; they lack the capacity to hear or comprehend the truth. Their minds are so entangled in prejudice, stubbornness, or fear that change becomes impossible. They are trapped within the shell of their thinking, where no light can enter and no new question arises. Ultimately, these individuals descend into a mental darkness where awareness sleeps, and both heart and mind fall into a permanent slumber of ignorance.

And then there is a third kind—a group of people who claim to believe in truth, yet neither understand themselves nor their intentions. Their words and actions contradict, their outer selves differ from their inner selves. They try to deceive others, but in reality, they are not honest with themselves. They feel a void within, which they attempt to hide behind words. But this emptiness and deception gradually give birth to an unease and restlessness that consumes their entire being.

Among these three human tendencies lies a profound lesson: life is not just about seeing but also about knowing and believing. A person’s true identity is not defined by what they say, but by their intent, actions, and inner truth. Faith is not merely accepting a principle but embodying it in one’s life. Above all, self-deception is a swamp—once fallen into, it becomes very difficult to escape.
