Fall of Urbanium

It has been 300 years. Many have died and many more have fallen due to illness. Scientists have struggled to find a cure, but it always came to the same result: we did this to ourselves.
The first signs came during the Industrial Revolution when the people looked to machines to produce goods quickly, mutilating themselves for the sake of greed. But these improvements, this “technology,” made work easier. They crowded together to see this new sight, cloth made instantly! But at what cost? Did they not see the scars they left on the world when they wasted the resources around them, tossing out every little part of the Earth before finding out how it could still be useful?
Maybe the Earth wept for the first time since the Flood. But forgetting the other life forms, humans used the planet until it was at its very limit. But that was our right as humans right? We are the higher life form, the evolutionary apex of existence, so why not use all that the Earth has to offer.
But here we are now in the product of that philosophy. Global warming due to the senseless burning of nonrenewable fuel has drowned half the world and in its wake left an entire oil industry bankrupt, impoverishing its workers. Insects took the opportunity to travel into higher areas, infecting those who lived in mountainous areas. We are dying, and nature is having is making those of us who have survived feel her wrath. We cannot survive anymore.
Doctor Randoll Sherwood has proposed time travel as a final solution. We could go back and warn the past of the dangers of overuse and overpopulation. With the discovery of the reverse-chronological movement of photons and wormhole research, interspatial- time travelling has become a possibility. None of us are healthy enough to survive the rapid movement of our particles through space, so I am sending this probe now to you, the people of the year 2014, where concern has risen to some of it highest in the past few centuries.
This is your pivotal moment! We of the future beg of you to stop this self-destruction while you can. The electric car is not enough. Power grids have shut down because of the overuse of electricity, rendering all sources of power useless. We could not learn the ways of the rural people and most of us have died because of Nature’s Revolt. We beg of your kindness to the world so that it may be kind to us. Recycle so that we can still have the materials to prevent Nature’s wrath, conserve so that still have the energy to survive! I-- We-- the future begs of you.
Urbanium has fallen.
