Gifted

A gifted father who knew what it meant to care for his own, made a comfortable dwelling for his family. Being a handy man, he cared for the things he owned and now and again his hobby was fixing bikes and cars. Making them like new, his wife never mind, for she was well cared for and had need of nothing. To see others in need, it was not uncommon for him to assist or help depending on the situation.
     Caring for his family, came natural to him, and spoiling his wife was a common event. After attending to the needs of his household, he would be heard hammering away on an old bike or some car that he was restoring. And like most things he done, they were well thought out, like every thing he did. Everyone knew when he came home or was leaving, for he would have his music, which he loved playing loud enough to be heard and enjoyed. Gospel music was his favorite, and he was proud of his walk with God and the journey it took him to be this close with God.
     Seeing a woman standing in the rain, gave him a chill as he thought about his own family and how it might be for her if anything would happen to himself. He knew the family of the woman standing at the bus stop in the rain, and observed that her husband was out of work. Pulling up to the woman, and rolling down his window, he asked if she would like a ride. It would have been hard for her to say no on many levels, for most of the women in the neighborhood knew this man as a gentlemen of gentlemen, so she got in his car as if in a rush from the rain. The meet and greet was short lived when the father asked if the woman could use a car for the family. Taken a back, the woman said yes, with a puzzled look of disbelief. It wasn't long before the car was pulling up to her destination and she was let out with a promise for her good.
     Driving up to her home, in one of his better cars he had remodeled, the father stepped out and walked up to the door and knocked. The woman was shocked to see the neighbor with what she thought was a car for show. When the man handed her the keys, trembling she called her husband, and he came to the door with greetings of his own. Little words were exchanged from the woman's husband, an awkward silence was broke with his offering them a bill of sale for the car and before long he was walking out their gate and toward his own home.
      Walking home feeling somewhat good about the experience, even though the awkward silence was noted, he dismissed it as an intrusion in their private lives. Seeing the same woman standing in the rain again after giving her the his car, gave him a reason to spin his car around, for he was headed in the opposite direction, and this time stopped to her with intentions. Rolling down his window, he asked if the car was OK. Being a motor mechanic and knowing everything about the car, for he built it from scratch, he wanted to know. She said No!. Really puzzled he asked her to get in out of the rain, and notice she did not get in his car as before, but did manage to get in a little more wet from the rain then that first time she needed a ride. With no meet and greet, this father only wanted to know what was going on and why she was standing in the rain. What came next, he was not prepared for. The woman said her husband sold the car, saying that you have other cars, and was wondering if you would give us another one.
