Great Friends

One day George reached a famous bar in the city and ordered  three glasses of  strong beer.

“You are alone and why three glasses” asked the waiter.

“Do what I said”, ordered George.

Waiter brought three glasses of beer and kept it on the table.

From each glass, George took one sip of beer and took another sip from other glasses. All the people present in the bar noticed his act.

It happened the next day as well. One of the men, who used to frequent the bar, took courage and asked George the reason for doing so.

“Me, John and Job used to take beer together. But, John went to U.S.A and Job to Germany. But before they left, we took a decision that henceforth, we would be taking beer this way, irrespective of wherever we are”, said George.

Everyone present in the bar liked their friendship. What a great friendship! Thus, they continued to take beer this way.

George  was not seen for a week. Then, one day, he came.  Sitting on the usual chair, he ordered two glasses of beer.

The entire people in the bar got stunned. There was pindrop silence. Everyone asked one another : Is it John or Job?

Reluctantly, one of them took courage and asked George “Though we all are  sad, is it John or Job, who is no more?”

At first, George got embarrassed. Then he said with a smile “Don’t worry, they all are fine! In fact, I stopped drinking after attending a retreat!”
