He Talks, To God

Once upon a time, there was a young boy who's spirits shined brighter than the sun itself
He has conversations with God himself
Though he tried to hide his fear
When Mamma and Pappa, were near
For he knew, there was nothing he could do
He only had one more chemo, to go through
Then hope fully, the cancer would be gone
All they could do, was help him hold on
Though they had absolutely notta clue
What sort of magic, of our God could do
But the precious angel, oh he had soo much hope
That not only, could he cope
But, here the voice of The God Almighty
So every night, putting on his nightie
He asked God, " Can you hear me?"
Waited patiently, just to see
The only man, who could ever renew his life
Tomorrow, the surgeon was opening him up, with his knife
He told God that night, " I know, you will give me a chance
For me and mommy, to share a dance
To go, fishing with my dad
Please do not leave my mommy, sad
I will go to a public school
I will soak my body, with your love dear God, use love as a tool
I ask you, to give me power
To bloom, like a flower, in my cancer's darkest hour
Dear God, tonight I prey
Today, is not my last day"
The nurse in the hall, heard him through the monitor used to hear him cough
It touched her so deep, that on her day off
She went in just the same, with the priest of the little church in town
To bless the child's body, while surgery held him down
The family, had no clue
If they're only child, would see through
The final stage, to keep him alive
So heartbroken, from his struggle to survive
Anxious just to have him back home, too
It was full of Teddy bears, and toys, too
Even a song, that mommy had wrote
Though it was short, she left it in a note
Under her pillow, every night
" My baby, is going to be alright
One day soon, no longer will he fight
I will tuck him in at night
My baby, is going to be alright
I will soon hold him tight
I will kiss him, good night
One day soon, my baby is going to be alright
His future will, shine bright, it wont end tonight
Please, my baby is going to be alright"
The surgeon, had cried on his way to work that morning
While he prepared, to give the last warning
To the family, with tears in their eyes
Praying, for the miraculous surprise
The priest, blessed his body, with his hands over the boys heart
Just before the surgery, was scheduled to start
Now, all that they could do was wait
He kept a steady heart rate
Which was good
It was going, the best it could
Considering the cancer, was located on his precious little heart
The little body, was a piece of art
So courageous, so strong
He had been fighting, for so long
Days passed, as he remained asleep, lost in dreams
Time passed, so slow or so it seems
Daddy this time had wrote him a note
" Dear son
When all this struggle is done
I will be the best father, ever known
For you, my love is never unknown
I will take you to the baseball game
Show you the, hall of fame
I will take you out to the lake
Barbeque, up the finest steak
Oh my loving son, I swear
Daddy will always, be there
To wipe, my little hero's eyes dry
To give you wings, so you fly
For you are already an angel, to both mom and me
You will live cancer free"
He woke up, though he was in pain
He had made it through, the rain
Two months later, he was announced cancer free
Thanks to how powerful, our God can be
He now has a chance
To ask his mommy, for a dance
To fish with Dad
To appreciate chances we take, for granted, but he never had
After begin strong enough to fight
God, had granted him light
He held, a gift in his beautiful heart
As, he did from the very start
Of the day he was born, from Mamma's womb
Sending cancer, to its doom
He stands, a survivor today
Still, he talks to God every day
Just to say
For a good tomorrow I prey

thanks Chris, I was only suppose to have it under a short story not a poem, but I seemed to have made a mistake, I entered it using my cell phone, that is why you see it twice
