Hopeless to Hopeful

She began as someone who went against all cliches that related to the idea of romance or finding your person; being able to look at that one person for the first time and instantly feeling that spark and connection with each glance. A young girl with a past of heartbreak and let downs wandered around each street fearing every man and woman that passed. They say it only takes that one person to change how you view love, but she never believed it until that one drunken night. Funny isn’t it? How someone who is a complete stranger one day can hold so much significance to you the next? There she was strolling towards the flashing lights and music loud enough that you could feel the vibrations of the floor under your feet, cigarette in hand. With each drag she consumed and each streak of smoke that escaped her mouth, you could tell that the nerves from being in a new city were slowly oozing away. Different shades of green in hair, silk black dress that clung to her body emphasising her figure and a smile that indicated confidence but hidden anxiety. From that moment, her whole perspective on feelings of love and infatuation had changed. It was in that moment she knew that this girl was going to change things. The girl with the spider tattoo. The girl that could possibly be the next one to break her heart, but that didn’t matter.
