It's easy preaching, but difficult to practise

Every year, a one week-long retreat was conducted.  Eminent speakers on the theme ‘Selfless attitude’ spoke in detail. Some of them quoted their real life stories and some shared stories they browsed on net. Now the speaker to speak next did not know what the speaker spoke the other day. Every speaker was all set to show off his scholarly knowledge and his mastery over oratory. Though the speakers changed every day, the community remained the same all the days. It so happened that the methods to lead a better life suggested by the speakers were totally different and every speaker emphasized upon the need of following the method that he suggested to follow a life, maintaining selfless attitude.

It so happened in the last day of the retreat that a boy stood up and asked the speaker as to how it was possible for one individual  to follow seven methods simultaneously in his life everyday to lead a life of ‘selfless attitude’ as the speakers suggested to them, as practically there was only a single man to follow all the suggested seven methods, suggested by seven eminent speakers. The speaker had no reply to his query. Though the speaker was well-known for his speech, later in his life, he ensured that he never suggested any specific method to lead a life of ‘selfless attitude’ or for that matter on any other subject.
