Josh and Caroline

Josh and Caroline were settling in to their nightly routine; staring at the TV with a cup of tea. While her eyes were fixed on the screen he couldn’t stop staring at her. The look he gave Caroline was one of pure adoration. Twenty years had passed since they’d met and she still looked just as beautiful as she did all those years ago.
“You haven’t touched your tea Caroline.” There was no reply, she was mad at him because he’d smashed her favourite plate. A limited edition commemorative plate celebrating the Queen’s golden jubilee. “I said I was sorry, honestly your mood swings are getting so bad lately.”
He let her have her moment.
Josh was laughing hysterically at the TV but there wasn’t a peep from Caroline. He shot a look at her and anger flashed across his face. “If you’re going to be such a miserable bitch I’m going to bed,” with that he stormed out of the living room.
After about ten minutes josh came back in, this time with tears streaked down his face and a bottle in his hand.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t yell at you” he blubbed as he hugged her.
After the tantrum was finished Josh took the lid off of the bottle.Â
“Hydration is happiness, time for a top up” he smiled, while pouring the full bottle of embalming fluid in to the container that housed the severed head of Caroline Harrison.
“Goodnight my love.” He kissed the glass, flicked the light off and went up to bed leaving her in total darkness.
