Late M.T. Vasudevan Nair, a luminary of Malayalam literature and cinema, passed away in 2024. A prolific writer, his masterpiece, Randamoozham, reimagines the Mahabharata through Bhima's eyes. His literary journey began early, with a short story award at the age of 20. Naalukettu, his debut novel, garnered the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 1958. Exploring themes of family and tradition, his novels, including Manju, Kaalam, and Asuravithu, delve into the intricacies of human relationships.  
A significant figure in Malayalam cinema, Nair directed seven films and penned screenplays for over 54. He was honored with four National Film Awards for Best Screenplay, a testament to his cinematic brilliance. Recipient of the Jnanpith Award and the Padma Bhushan, Nair's contributions to Indian literature and cinema are immeasurable.
