Love or control?

I remember a girl whoâs face looked like it was handcrafted by God but she would never
have an idea of how icy her soul was. She was sure that a beautiful shell would disguise
her ugly heart, she sat in front of the mirror for hours covering her heart in band-aids
. However, the acts that she puts on other people will make her more ugly and sheÂ
will continue to layer her face in the paint to earn respect. But she never will. Her name wasÂ
Venus. The goddess of love by coincidence only for she will never have an ounce of love inÂ
her heart. As Lottie would say âsheâs only insecureâ. Only insecure. Only. Lottie was VenusâÂ
âbest friendâ a kind-heart girl with the most beautiful long blonde hair with one blue eye andÂ
one brown. Here pale skin made it easy for the light to highlight her amazingly-chiseledÂ
features. To spite Lottie's extra-ordinary features and her heart so bright that it radiatedÂ
throughout her entire body. Boys that she liked always seemed to like Venus over her andÂ
she never understood why, i mean Venus had a cold heart and Lottie had a heart that couldÂ
keep you warm even when it was snowing outside.Â
Â
Prom was coming around and it was the talk of the school. Prom. Prom. Prom.Â
Everything was about prom not the normal stuff like â What did you do last night?â but allÂ
âWho are you taking to prom?â and â What is your dress like?â. âI find it all stupid, to be honestÂ
with youâ Ryan said when Lottie asked if he was going âyou have to!â Lottie exclaimed, he had
not realized that it was a rhetorical question but he wanted to make her happy he loved her
after all as Bob Marley said âThe truth is everyone is going to hurt you.You just got to findÂ
the one worth suffering forâ. Ryan found his. âWho are you going withâ Lottie said leaning intoÂ
him. It was so obvious that she liked him to. Suddenly, the locker slammed shut and VenusÂ
appeared, she had to make a dramatic appearance everywhere she went or she didnât seeÂ
the point in talking at all, âHi Ryan, are you going to prom?â she asked with the look in herÂ
eye that Lottie knew all to well-âActually we were just talking about itâ Ryan said looking rightÂ
at Venus as if Lottie was never there in the first place. She felt invisible.âWhy donât you goÂ
with me?â Ryan just nodded and walked off with her. Lottie felt the heat of her anger riseÂ
within her, however, she compressed the feeling and just walked in the opposite direction.Â
She was seeing Venus later that night for a sleepover but she didnât know how she would tellÂ
her that she was in love with Ryan.Â
Â
That that night Lottie was at Venusâ house, just talking-mostly about Ryan whichÂ
Lottie hated- she had never seen Venus that happy it was some what alarming, she couldnâtÂ
tell her that she loved him, not now, not that she had found what she had been missing for soÂ
many years. Lottie suppressed her feelings for Ryan while listening to Venusâ date with himÂ
which seemed to tear her gold heart up. Venusâ noticed. âIâll tell you what, why donât we goÂ
dress shopping together, Ryan and I have spoken about matching colors so why doesnât heÂ
come with us?â. âHonestlyâŚâ Lottie tried to summon up the courage to tell her but sheÂ
couldnât, âthat would help, you always had the best taste.â. It killed Lottie inside. The wholeÂ
situation. She needed to get away.Â
 Â
Prom was not for another 3 weeks but there was so much to do in that time.Shoes.Â
Bags. hair. Dresses. In a little shop on the corner, Venus, Lottie, and Ryan were sitting in aÂ
corner. Ryan in the middle of both girls. âIâm going to try my dress onâ Venus said kissingÂ
Ryan on the cheek as she went, âyouâll look great iâm sureâ Lottie shouted behind her. Now itÂ
was just Lottie and Ryan and she was scared. She didnât know what of. She just was. âSoâŚâÂ
he was trying to start a conversation but he didnât know what to say to her. She looked soÂ
beautiful.â who are you going with?â he didnât mean to say that, he felt the words that he hadÂ
just uttered were like daggers to her. âIâm not to sure if i want to go anymoreâ Ryan reachedÂ
for her hand as he asked âwhy?â but she couldnât tell him that she wanted to go with him, notÂ
now. Ryan was just staring into her eyes and Lottie was staring back, anyone could see thisÂ
love in their eyes, they were both leaning in when Venus emerged from behind the curtain.Â
This caused Ryan to jump out of Lottieâs arms. Â
