Master and the disciple

The disciple was stubborn that unless he experienced God, he would not believe in. How hard the master would try, the disciple was not convinced.
Finally, the master called the disciple near him and slapped on his face as fiercely as he could. The disciple was terrified and asked why the master had done so. The master asked the disciple as to what did he feel when he was slapped. The disciple said he felt acute pain. The master asked him to show the pain. To which, the disciple said it was he who experienced the pain and pain can not be shown. It was what he had experienced.
The master said “so is God; the presence of God is to be experienced personally and can not be shown – it is personally to be experienced by one and how better it is tried to be explained, it would be a futile exercise”. Now that you have experienced pain and are unable to show it, you must have learnt that God’s presence is to be experienced and can not be shown outwardly.
The disciple never had any queries about the presence of God and he became a great master later in his life.
