Much too long

We have been here much too long. We have outlived them all, even our own children. I stand watch, and see them die. Watch the light fade from their eyes. My name is Abooksigun, we are supposed to beΒ Algonquian indians. But we are something different, something not quite right. We left Ontario, we couldn't stay there after the incident, after we were starving, and ate our fellow brother, slept with their wives, and children. We were seen as animals, cursed as them, and sent to die. But we didn't. Our spirits had become something else, something not quite human. Now at 309, (the youngest of the group) I had a decision to make, and as I thought about it, the clearer the answer became. I would kill them all.
