Nightmares Come True

I’m finally going home after two years of college life. Hopefully this Halloween we do not do anything. Memories started coming back to me. After all those years of bullying I still came back. Passing by the sign that read ‘Welcome to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania,’ I thought I saw writing in red. “Red, I’m going to have to leave you near the Highland Park Bridge. Is that okay?” Stan, an old family friend asked me. “Yeah, how much do I owe you?” After Stan left me near the bridge I took of to look for a taxi. The weather today was sunny but the closer I got to the park the colder it got. I kept getting goosebumps and I suddenly started feeling a chill rundown my spine

I decided to speed walk to the other side of the park. It might have taken me an hour since I ran a little. Once I reached a large building I saw a bus stop. I rather wait for the bus than keep walking and look for a cab. Okay, so waiting for the bus wasn't my best idea but I was tired from walking. Yeah I may be in the track team but I still get tired. After half an hour of resting I went to look for a cab. I was minding my own business when I suddenly decided to hug the floor. “What the heck?” I started saying some colorful affronts to the floor. I then tried to stand up but found that my ankle hurt. I doubt that its was anything serious so I just allayed the pain but rubbing my ankle.

Once I stood up properly I looked around. Had no one seen me fall? That is when I started that the city looked marooned. “People these days. Cant even help me as a benevolent act,” I grumbled under my breath. I kept walking ‘till I got to the park place pub.

I saw a cab right in front of it. I got in and sat there in the awkward silence. Well to me it was awkward. “Um…. Can you take me to the address?” I handed him my parents address but he didn’t take it. Nor did he respond. I lightly tapped his shoulder but he still wouldn’t respond. I started getting irritated and decided to shake him.

A piercing scream left my mouth. I quickly collected all of my stuff and ran out. “OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD……his head feel off,” I silently said to myself. Getting my cell phone out I tried dialing my parents. “Cookie crust, I don’t have signal,” some more colorful affronts came out of my mouth. What is up with me and affronting object a lot today?

I decided that I should look around and find someone who’s head does not fall off. After walking aimlessly for who knows how long I reached Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church.  Whoever built that church must have been an adept architecture. Once inside I hear a little girl crying. I walk further into the church and I spot her. I hate seeing kids cry so I walk over to her. I was about to grab her arm when she slowly started to turn around. The hairs on the back of my neck went up. Once she was facing me I saw that she was taking chunks off of an arm. I wanted nothing more than to throw up but I held it in. She was all pale and her eyes were missing. You could only see her eye sockets. The left side of her face looked like someone had stabbed her multiple times.

Backing away quickly I ran out. I did not want to look behind me but I did anyways. She was chasing after me and she still held onto the arm. I turned and started running away. I really did not know where I was headed towards but I rather be lost then with the little girl. If this was a haunted city for some benevolent act then I would pay for them to leave me alone.

Running towards a car I opened it. Thankfully it was unlocked. I got in and quickly locked the doors. I looked outside to see the little girl still running towards me. Suddenly I started to feel the hairs on the back of my neck go up again. I looked around outside but only say the little girl.

I slowly turned around in the car and saw a bunny. “Awww a cute little bunny,” I gushed at it. It slowly turned it head towards me. It had been looking outside of the window.  Somehow the bunny looked callous. Well besides the fact that half of its face was missing. Like it would kill me but I knew bunnies could not do that. Slowly started to hopping its way towards me. I stared at its mesmerizing eyes. They were a blood red color.

I could not get myself to look away. I could not even move. Once it was about a foot away from me, it attacked my arm. It jumped on me and started to tear through my flesh. After feeling its razor teeth I moved. I flung my arm towards the window.  After hitting the window so many times it finally broke. The bunny was thrown right in front of the little girl. She bent over and picked him up. Then she slowly started to stalk her way towards me.

I quickly went to the other side of the car and got out. I started running. I was adept to it since I was on the track team. I ran towards the nearest building but none of them would open. I had not dared look back and I was not going to. I ran past Fulton Academy of Science. That is where most girl done their debut. Most of my friends where debutantes but not me.  I ran towards the elementary school. “Son of a Baptist!” I yelled as the pain on my right hand increased. I used my left hand to open the door. Thankfully it did not creak. It was dark but I could still make out some figures.

I decided to look around in the teachers lounge. The only problem was that I had to find it.  I walked into a room that I was sure was the main office. I started to look for the light switch when I heard foot steps. Please tell me that the little girl did not find me. I took a step back from the door and was about to slip again but I caught myself.

Looking at what I almost slipped on made me want to die. My mom was a few feet away from a huge puddle of blood. I would not really recognize her if I had not seen the necklace she always wears. Her face was unrecognizable and the other half of her body was missing. Beside her was a paper. I grabbed it and read it. They had declared an emergency evacuation on the whole city. There was also another paper from the government saying that the evacuation was to be annulled.

I took one last look at the paper and decided to look for something else. I forgot that there was someone else in here and it was too late to not move. Right in the door way stood a little girl. Not the same one I had encountered already. “What do you want?” I yelled. I could not take it anymore. “I want your eyes,” the eyeless little girl told me coming into view. They both started to walk towards me. “No! No! no,” I kept shouting but I knew they would not stop.

I looked down to see my mom staring at me. Except she had no eyes. But somehow it felt like she was staring at me. She suddenly started to smile. Her teeth were pointy. She slowly started to drag herself towards me. If she had not been my mother I would have ran away. She looked like the zombie from the walking dead since her lower half was missing. Once she was close enough so took a hold of my leg. I was about to offer her my hand when she started to take a chunk off of my leg. I tried to pry her off but nothing could avail.

Suddenly I was felt a stab on my back. Whoever done it kept stabbing me again and again. Next thing I know my eyes are being ripped of my face. I scream but nothing come out. Then I heard someone say, “ Now you know how it feels.”

I started to feel sleepy and tired. I see one of the little girls grab a knife from behind them. She slowly cuts my throat. I can not breath anymore. I let my last breath leave me and close my eyes.

I wake up coughing. “Know you see how I felt, huh? “ My roommate Emily says. I look around and see that I am in my dorm. “It was all a night mare,” I say while sighing. “I am going downstairs for breakfast. Also do not forget what will befall today Red,” Emily said while heading out.

I was still shocked from my nightmare to remember. I was supposed to meet the person my parents betroth to me. I did not even want to go visit them since the nightmare I had. But it was all just some dream. I got out off bed when I noticed that my whole body was in pain.  I walk to the bathroom and go in. I decide that a shower will help but once I stand in front of the mirror I find marks all over me.

My back is hurting too but I am afraid to look at it. Was it all just a dream? Or did it really happen?
