OBSTACLES - A MIRAGE!

OBSTACLES – A MIRAGE!
It is based on an event happened in my life recently. I had to have a transfer to Ludhiana in Punjab which is in the northern part of India. I cursed the time of transfer since the area is under extreme winter as I am not acclimatised to it. I was accommodated in a room which is about one kilometre away from my Office. Daily I start my journey at 8o’clock in the morning. I prefer walking to cycling. Reason is funny – I can speak to my beloved wife who is at my home in Trivandrum, (Kerala) which is over 3500 kilometres from my place of posting. I had an STD package having monthly unlimited talk time and hence I wanted to speak to her without any interruptions since all passers-bye are strangers to me.
I still recollect. It was on 30th of January this year. As usual, I came out of my room for my routine journey to office. Surprise! I could not see anything but only white. Despite my winter clothing, I was still feeling cold. The atmosphere is thickly fogged. I could not see what was there in front of me- I felt. Enjoying beauty of the whitest white for the first time, even forgetting to speak to my wife, I walked forward. When I moved further, I could see trees one-by-one. When I moved further closer to the trees, I found no fog there near to me. I was able to see the tree clearly. It was wholly against my initial perception of nothing could be seen in the dense fog.
From this, I leant a lesson that when you face an obstacle(problem) far from a distance, you feel the problem is unsolvable. When you really go closer to the obstacle, the problem vanishes.
I uttered myself, “All that appears so is not a problem”.

Dear Panicker, reading you short story takes me to remember that it is the angle in which we see the things and that matters the gravity of problem. However, your ability of using simple words will certainly help the reader to congratulate. My children are enthused to read it again. May God bless you to write more such stories.
