One Day

It was March 1998. I met you for the first time. I was in a strange place, surrounded by family I didn't know. My great-grandmother had just died. People were at the church my father cried for the first time that I could remember. I looked outside and there you were a stanger. You saw me cry so you started to cry. That day we became close. You were the first love, my one true love. I was young, didn't know what love was. Fast forward 16 years later, we are married with 3 amazing kids. We share a love that is rare and sometimes feels unreal. One day changed my life forever. The day I said I do, The day I said I will honor and cherish you. The day I became your wife, your life partner. But it all started the day you cried when you saw my heart break. The day I got the tragic news that my beloved grand-mother passed away. Last year you held me in your arms and comforted me as I sank into a depression, my best friend in the world. A woman I loved dearly was gone due to a life long illness, of being paralyzed by a stroke. You were there both times as I said goodbye to the women who cared for my dad, the women who nursed us and gave us life. One day turned into a life time of days that we will spend together comforting each other and loving each other.
