Poem:
MOUNTAINS
“Those outlying peaks, outpouring Terra’s elixir
Beaming with sun rays ,
these wines of Vanir
Cascading down like a maiden unfurls her locks
Those crashes on bosoms,
so as the falls on the rocks.
Forming a brook, tis edged by hanging willows
Only there my love! our union my fancy follows
Hands in hands we walk on the brightest cobbles
Bare foot we step sometimes on the pointed pebbles
We look eyes to eyes and witness our odysseys together
Of joys and pains, of sufferings and happiness we gather
We see the stream and pray for the joys to flow incessant
We see the crashing falls and pray for our proud competent
And a walk together towards Elysium I pray with thee
Hand in hand we close our eyes under a willow tree
And we smile and kiss and brace each other
Then pray for the eternal love this life and further.”

POETIC VIEWS:
The poem celebrates love, nature, and the eternal bond between two individuals. It explores themes of joy, pain, suffering, and the hope for an everlasting connection. The poem appears to be free verse, lacking a fixed rhyme scheme or meter. This allows for a more natural and conversational flow, reflecting the intimate nature of the love described.
Moreover, this poem is rich in imagery, particularly related to nature. The "outlying peaks," "cascading falls," "hanging willows," and "pointed pebbles" create a vivid and evocative setting for the love story. The tone is predominantly romantic and hopeful, with moments of tenderness and longing. There is a sense of peace and contentment in the natural setting, reflecting the serenity of the love shared.
While the poem lacks a strict rhyme scheme, there are instances of alliteration (e.g., "cascading down," "pointed pebbles") and assonance (e.g., "beaming with sun rays," "forming a brook") that contribute to the musicality and rhythm of the language.
In short, "Mountains" by Priyanka Bhattacharya is a beautifully crafted poem that uses the grandeur of nature to reflect themes of love, unity, and eternity. The mountains symbolize stability and timelessness, while the flowing streams and crashing falls parallel the emotional journey of the speaker and their beloved. The imagery of hands intertwined and the walk on cobbles and pebbles signify the shared experiences of joy and pain in a relationship.
