Passing through the woods aimlessly
I was caught with some thoughts
Of some old feathers as retrospection
In reminiscence of some golden memories

( I wish to slice this poem into four or more  lines according to its theme and thread of the poem in view of my appreciation and inspiration of this verse, Beacon means a signalling or guiding device that emits light such as a lighthouse, situated on the sidelines of a seashore or in a dark forest. While wandering along the life woods aimlessly, poetess Maaya Dev dwells in a mood of many golden memories, and these memories inspires to write this verse, my applause, my congrats to Maaya Dev)

I stopped by the woods
Sat alongside the river
Whole serenity in muse
Tranquil sky in sync, channelizing breeze
Nature’s symphony, rainbows rehearsing
Koel’s cajoling, peacock dancing
moment juxtaposing moment
to beget life.

(Everyone knows in their heart that love is the highest power that our Higher Self operates as pure, unconditional Love. This Love is beyond mental understanding or simple romantic love, as it is the source of life itself. It is pure wisdom and infinite knowledge. It heals and purifies and gives us strength to all humans, The above lines depict Maaya Dev’s vision on nature and its enlightenment involved by way of this)

A finite sequel of moments
Life-death-life-death…
till the moment ceases
for a new beginning
or, never to follow the sequel.

(In between the rehearsal timings of human’s life-time, the real path to enlightenment is long and hard, and you should try not to forget about this physical world, in spite, kill all your internal desires which prompt you to be more selfish and greedy)

I watched the moon was playing
under the stars riveted sky
down in the river
fireflies’ drop the light
and I was feeling the warmth
of thousand splendid suns
as beacon of enlightenment.

(There is another great picture rooted in the Enlightenment but meaningful to us still today, and that is the metaphor of the universe and the nature involved as a great machine. This too invites the idea that nature is passive. Poetess Maaya  Dev depicts this universal concept of enlightenment linked with the nature and universe, I love this metaphor)

BETWEEN THE LINES

Enlightenment means to give knowledge or understanding to someone: to explain something to someone, the real path to enlightenment is long and hard, and you should try not to forget about this physical world, in spite, kill all your internal desires which prompt you to be more selfish and greedy in life.

As per Vedanta, there are only two symptoms of enlightenment or illumination, just two indications that a renovation is taking place within you toward a higher perception. The first symptom is that you stop worrying. Things don't bother you anymore. You become lighthearted and full of joy. The second symptom is that you encounter more and more meaningful coincidences in your life, more and more synchronization. And this accelerates to the point where you actually experience the incredible things or events in your daily life.

Enlightenment is human's release from his self-incurred tutelage. Tutelage is also human's inability to make use of the understanding without direction from another. Self-incurred is this tutelage when its cause lies not in lack of reason but in lack of resolution and courage to use it without direction from another. Have courage to use your own reason, that is the motto of enlightenment.

It is simply sitting silently, witnessing the thoughts, passing before you. Just witnessing, not interfering not even judging, because the moment you judge you have lost the pure witness. The moment you say “this is good, this is bad,” you have already jumped onto the thought process.

It takes a little time to create a gap between the witness and the mind. Once the gap is there, you are in for a great surprise, that you are not the mind, that you are the witness, a watcher. And this process of watching is the very alchemy of real religion. Because as you become more and more deeply rooted in witnessing, thoughts start disappearing. You are, but the mind is utterly empty. That’s the moment of enlightenment. That is the moment that you become for the first time an unconditioned, sane, really free human being.
