short story

I shivered and curled into a ball in a corner of my dark cold cell as a cold breeze ripped through the air around me. I slowly uncurl after a moment and start to look over my wounds. I had just been thrown back into my cell after yet another torture session with Sid. I curled back up after I finished finding only a few new bruises. I start to weep silently grief filling me as I start to remember how I got here.
FLASH BACK
I smiled at the sight of my childhood home as I get out of my silver Chevy. I am visiting my parents on mothers day after not seeing them for a year since I had been to busy with work. I decided after finding out that mom had fallen off a latter and broke her arm a visit was in order.
I hummed happily as I walked up the steps of the modest two story brick home. Upon finding the door unlocked I entered and my humming stooped abruptly as the strong scent of blood hit me. Immediately I was on guard and cautiously started to walk further into the house.
Turning into the small living room I had to stop myself from screaming at the sight of my parents still in their pajamas laying in a puddle of blood near the couch. They had been shot in the chest. Just as I was about to rush to them I felt something hit me in the head hard causing me to black out.
END FLASHBACK
I woke up later on to find myself tied to a chair in a circle of light in a otherwise pitch black room. A big man in black appears in front of me and introduces himself as Sid then proceeds to tell me what I'm doing here. My parents stole money from him and hid it. He thinks I know where it is.
He then starts to ask me questions I don't know the answer to. After about the twelfth question he starts to get mad that I just continue to stare blankly at him in silence. A few questions later and he starts to beat me trying to get answers I don't have.
When that doesn't work he motions to the shadows and a big bald man wearing black appears. I'm then untied and led out of the room and down some steps. The man stops at a door that leads to a dark cold empty cell and throws me in. That became the routine of my days here.
Wake up, go to the dark room and get tied up. Get interrogated, and beaten. Get tossed back into my cell.
My head shoots up when I hear my cell door open and I'm filled with fear. The fear vanishes when I see who it is and is replaced with happiness and relief. It's a police officer.
I'm saved.
