Sidda (The Achiever of Wisdom) + Artha (The Wealth)= Siddhartha in Sanskrit Language

Wisdom cannot be imparted. Wisdom that a wise man attempts to impart always sounds like foolishness to someone else ... Knowledge can be communicated, but not wisdom. One can find it, live it, do wonders through it, but one cannot communicate and teach it.― Hermann Hesse, German Novelist

In his novel, Siddhartha, a young man, leaves his family for a contemplative life, then, unsatisfied, discards it for one of the flesh. He conceives a son, but bored and sickened by lust and greed, moves on again. Near despair, Siddhartha comes to a river where he hears a unique sound. This sound signals the true beginning of his life -- the beginning of suffering, rejection, peace, and, finally, wisdom. The novel deals with the spiritual journey of self discovery of a man named Siddhartha during the time of the Buddha. The book, Hermann Hesse's ninth novel (1922), was written in German, in a simple, lyrical style. The word Siddhartha is made up of two words in the Sanskrit, Siddha means, the one who is achieved or gained and Artha means wealth, which together means "he who has found meaning (of existence)" or "he who has attained his goals" . This famous novel was filmed in 1972 in English language with the same name, starring Sasi Kapoor and Simi Grewal starred in lead roles - WILLIAMSJI MAVELI

Excellent way to divert the mind in religious teaching through the novel of Sir Hermann Hesse,..Siddhartha Gautama isĀ the primary figure in Buddhism, and account of his life, discourses, and monastic rules are believed by Buddhists to have been summarized after his death and memorized by his followers. He taught a middle way between sensual indulgence and the severe asceticism found in the Sramana movement. He later taught throughout regions India.
