SILVER SCREEN : MOVIE APPRECIATION

UNVEILING THE DUAL LIVES OF VIVEKANADANÂ
Vivekanandan is a guy who seems friendly and helpful to women, but he's got a dark side. He's married to Sithara, but he also has another woman, Diana, who he sees during the week. What's worse is that Vivekanandan is into some really harmful stuff in the bedroom, even going as far as to hurt the women he's with emotionally and physically.
When Diana can't take it anymore, she reaches out to Sithara for help. They come up with a plan to stop Vivekanandan for good. But when the truth comes out, society is divided. Many people, especially men and their families, don't understand or believe what the women are saying.
This isn't the first time this issue has been tackled in Kerala-based films like "Neru" and "Aattam." While "Aattam" got praise, some think it falls short. They wonder if the male director, Kamal, missed the mark on portraying the female experience. Plus, there are problems with how the story unfolds, especially in the second half where things get messy and don't feel satisfying. Using social media to address such a serious issue also seems rushed and lacking in seriousness.
Despite these issues, the actors like Grace and Swasika do a great job showing pain, anger, and strength. And Shine's performance adds depth to the character.
If the film had been made with more care, it could've sparked important conversations. Instead, it feels rough and doesn't give the topic the attention it deserves.- WILLIAMSJI MAVELI
