Spring of the Philippine Land
The morning sun painted golden hues across the small Filipino village, where the lush green mountains met the azure sea. Each scene told a beautiful story. Amidst these landscapes, two little sisters, Bernila and Amparo, nurtured their innocent dreams. For them, every day was an opportunity to learn and create something new.
Bernila, the elder sister, often guided her younger sibling, Amparo. One day, sitting under the village’s old mango tree, Bernila said, “Mother says trees are the breath of the earth. Without them, our land will fall sick.” Amparo, with her innocent charm, responded, “Then why don’t we plant trees to make the earth healthy?”
This thought deeply touched their hearts, and the sisters made a resolution to green their little world. They began planting saplings with their tiny hands. Near their village flowed a stream, from where they fetched water to nurture the plants. For them, this wasn’t work—it was play. They found joy in the earthy scent of soil and the greenery that surrounded them. Every tree they planted was a new dream, a promise they made to their village.
One day, an elder from the village noticed them planting saplings. Impressed by their dedication, he said, “You two are an inspiration for this village. Your efforts will not only heal our land but also gift something precious to future generations.” His words further fueled their enthusiasm.
When a severe storm struck their village one day, the sisters stood by their planted trees. Their love and dedication had made the trees resilient, and they withstood the storm. The villagers, inspired by the courage and devotion of the two young girls, decided to join them in their mission to make the village greener.
As time passed, the saplings planted by Bernila and Amparo grew into towering trees. These trees not only added beauty to the village but also provided shade and fruits to its people. Seeing the joy on their daughters’ faces filled their parents’ hearts with pride.
