SYNOPSIS: This is my weekend writing column for a review of a poem from a selected author. This Column is being titled as "Sunday Musings" with a view to feature an in-depth analysis of any one of the poems from the previous week's postings, selected by me at random to avoid the elaborate review or comment postings by me in the usual comments column. Poetess Cherie Sumner's almost all poems are great success, and have won much appreciations and comments from COSMO viewers.  Hence it was very difficult to choose the best one for my review. However, I shall plan this column in such a way to accommodate almost all style of poems by all poets and poetess of COSMOFUNNEL, which I hope will give more room for encouragement and inspirations to write. The poems selected are purely from my own liking and discretion and has nothing to do with the ratings, voting and favorite aspects. Hope, readers will understand my view point and enjoy my writing. My views and interpretations in this column are purely my own observations, and it has nothing to do with the personal life of the author of the poem. I am eager to read your feed-backs.  The poem which I have taken-up for this Sunday Musings is Cherie Sumner's   poem titled " Loving In The Dark"

• Loving In The Dark

She suffers in silence
For reasons mysteriously stark
Giving him all she holds inside
But loving him, left in the dark
She knows no other way
Than to wear her heart on her sleeve
Seeking for his reassurance
It is safe for her to cleave 

(Life gives challenges and every challenge comes with rainbows and lights to conquer it. When the Sun of care arises darkness keeps away and the singing birds come from nowhere)

She used to avoid love
Until she kissed his alluring lips
Unable to decipher his guarded nature
In eclipse
Revealing her intensity
With her heart placed in his hand
His heart beat shares only glimpses
Without clear stand

(Beautiful metaphors, the words used  in this stanza are minimum, but the picture it gives is crystal clear, love it, my applause)

For his unfailing love
She would give her soul to the devil
She seeks to feel complete
With love on a spiritual level  
For sure, it is too late to turn back
From love’s torturous mark
She survives best she can, committed
Loving in the dark

(Rather than weeping and longing for those who left our path during dark moments of our life, let us spend some time to thank them who stood and helped us to pass those dark paths)

• BETWEEN THE LINES

The indispensable nature of being alive and being human is to know-how life in its purest form -- the wins and fatalities, celebrations and challenges, and the good with the bad.Some of these experiences are not favorable. We might be in pain, physically or emotionally -- we hurt. Often we feel betrayed by life itself, we feel it is unfair and question why we have to go through these struggles.

What we don't realize is that these struggles are a gift from life itself. When we come face to face with a struggle, a low point in life, be it an illness, a relationship breakdown or financial ruin, at the time we are lost in darkness. Love and through pain comes triumph. This is the triumph of the human spirit; it is not in a select few, it is in every one of us.

Your struggles and hardships are your gifts so that you can reach deep down inside of yourself and discover your inner power and the glory of who you are. Use them to share your message of hope and love with the world.The world wants your voice, your message and your experiences so that they can resound in the hearts of others and give hope and courage to show that it is possible to overcome anything. Let us share our gifts with each other as we will be far richer for the experience
