Surprise Winner

Surprise Winner

One day God wanted to test which virtue had the best quality in its line. He announced that the  winner would occupy the seat, kept in between God and Jesus. Jesus was made the Chief Election Officer, who announced the date for election. Jesus announced that the result would be as per the guidelines that is kept in a sealed envelope, given to him by God, the Almighty Father,  the contents of which was only known to God. All virtues were the candidates as well as the voters. It was compulsory for every virtue to cast vote. There was no provision of 'NFS' - None Found Suitable. The election was held on the set date itself, with many virtues believed to have joined sides. The voting was held through secret ballots.  All the virtues fought the election with their full might, adopting horse-trading and all possible tactics that is usually seen in general elections. The Pre-Poll Survey, conducted by international reputed agencies,  had clearly predicted that  'mercy' would emerge as the undisputed winner, stating hundreds of reasons and probabilities that their election experts worked out, working hard day and night. Once the voting was over,  every virtue except gratitude, was anxious to know the guidelines, kept in the sealed envelope, which read  "It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant,” (Matthew 20:26). To everybody's surprise and dismay, ‘gratitude’ emerged as the winner, defeating all other virtues as it had cast even its own vote to ‘mercy’, which pleased even God.  The final score read: Gratitude – 0, Mercy – 2, etc.
