A Tale

I took a trip to Birmingham Alabama a car to pick up
With a little pocket change my mission was none stop
Caught the bus and arrived there at night
Needed a place to stay but my money was tight
\Mr cab man, I need the cheapest place I can find
Sure said the cab driver what you got in mind
Maybe a twenty dollars motel or so something like that
I'll get close to the place leave you in no time flat
That bad hey, take a left and it's on the left bye
Walked up to a white guy with a wonder in his eye
Can I help you sir, yes I need a room
Are you sure said the man, as if I had walk to my doom
He handed me a key to rooms on the third floor
I had to pass blood and guts from a murder the night before
Yellow tape, and stains from mayhem and sure death
Shadowy figures with eyes beckoning from the deep
Say Mr. someone is in my room!! ok here try this key
Passing the blood and the tape, and walla a place for me
Curtains made from blankets rejected by the G.I. Joe'
I went back downstairs with white t-shirt, sucks no shoes
Hookers, thieves, and thugs got ta steppin
Had a good sleep that night and wondered what happen
For a place where death seems to hang out
I sure got a good sleep with nothing moving about
Next day I asked the hooker that left in a scurry
We took one look at you, thought hit man end of story!!
