The Answer to Love

‘Who is the richest Father, you or love.’ The King’s Son once asked him. The King called his Three Wise Men and told them ‘My son wishes to know, who is the richest, me or love. Go out to the world and find me the answer.’ The three wise men travelled far to the furthest lands and asked the same question to all they came across. The first one was seen as foreign to the people and they feared his king and his great wisdom, so they stoned him and hurt him badly. The second went to some other country and asked the same thing of its people. They told their king that their was a foreigner asking some strange questions about, and their king gave them a reward and locked the wise man up in prison. The third came to a place where people became jealous of him and his rich king and chased him away with sticks and threats never to return again. The Three Wise Men came back to their own king and country after some time and went and told their King. ‘I found the reason for hatred as I was stoned for being rich and wise. People hate what is foreign to them and that which they cannot understand. They feel threatened and nearly killed me. But I still did not find the answer to love.’ said the first. The second then added ‘I found the reason for greed, the want of money. I was put behind bars for my effort. But I found no answer to love there either.’  ‘I found the reason for envy. Jealousy and spite. Yet I also found no answer for love.’ Replied the last one sadly to his king. ‘’You see son,’ the king told his prince ‘That love is far richer than me, for all of my wise men could find no answer for love.’ This much is true, that there is not a cure for love.
