The Butterfly Wish

The Butterfly Wish

Tinkerbell the Fairy was flying over the green grass and the pretty flowers. Soon she came across little Sally who was daydreaming under the old sycamore tree out in the valley and the fields. 'What are you sitting here all alone daydreaming about all on your lonesome little girl?' asked Tinkerbell. 'Oh, Tinkerbell,' said little Sally, 'How I wish that I was a butterfly, flying around from flower to flower all on a sunny day. What a marvelous thing that would be. The most splendid of all dreams to me.' She replied wistfully to the grand little Fairy. 'Then I shall say my magic spell,' replied the fay, 'And you shall be the loveliest little butterfly for all of one day, until the sun goes down tonight, and it is time for little girls to go to home to mother and her dearest of bedtimes. Butterflies are free to fly, fly forever free lovely butterfly of mine,' said Tinkerbell as she wound a magic spell all over dear little Sally, and the little girl was instantly transformed before her eyes into the most beautiful butterfly of all. Soft and gentle she would flutter away in the breeze, forever loving and true to her own little spirit of freedom and love. She flew away for a day and was seen by all as she fluttered gentle from flower to flower, from the one green tree to the other, all over the meadows and fields all day long she flew and kissed all the lovely blooms in her passing. The day was now truly a wonderful dream of butterflies and little girls love come true after all. All day long she would flutter and fly all over the world in mystery of colorful love and enchantment of beauty to all. The whole day long as the sun shined above in the blue skies with the white fleece clouds wafting gently all about. The whole day long until the trees started to draw tall shadows all over the grassy plains and the sun started setting blood red and purple on the further horizon. Suddenly the little butterfly changed again for all to see as she settled in front of her own momma's porch, into the lovely little girl whom everyone knew and loved as dear little Sally the lovely little princess of the home. She dreamed sweet dreams all night long of butterflies and flowers after mother tucked her into bed that night. And when she awoke the next morning bright and early, she found Tinkerbell waiting for as always under the old tree down by the meadow and stream. 'Well, wasn't it lovely to be free as a butterfly for just one day?' the little Fairy asked of her. 'It was the most awesome thing of all!' replied little Sally to the fay. 'The most beautiful and splendid thing one can ever imagine,' she laughed to herself with the joy and love that only special little girls and butterflies have. And it was true what they say after all, Butterflies are free to fly. Fly way butterfly!
