The Christmas Day

It was just before midnight and all was cold and black outside. The small family retired to bed for the night’s sleep and mother tucked the children into bed. Soon thereafter the father of the home turned out the lights of the house. The fire was still burning gently in the fireplace with the last glowing embers of tender warmth. The Christmas stockings hung proudly on the mantle piece and the presents for the following day were displayed joyfully under the lovely green Christmas tree. Eagerly awaiting to be opened by all happy hearts soon enough. The tree was cast in a kaleidoscope of multicolored lights and golden trimmings. Little bells and balls hung all about the place. At the very top of the tree a little silver cross shone proudly for all to see and admire with love in their hearts. It was a beautiful evening of enchantment and wonder all about. Outside the snow fell and drifted gently to the ground below. The world was a white miracle of Christmas filled with love and tenderness for all of mankind. The morning hours passed slowly and without a care or worry at all. Black and holy was the night. Soon enough the first streaks of dawn’s dim glow would appear from afar on the distant horizon. The first birds of a snow white world started to sing and chirp heralding in the brand new day ahead. It was Christmas morning after it all. A new world of love and wonder that never ends. Life was celebrated in love and brotherhood once again. Merry Christmas. God bless us all.Â
