The distance between love and imagination

Distance was the bridge that separated them. Neither one of them was daring to move. I remember, she was but a breath. I closed my eyes and we were miles away. I searched for her smile in the sky but her constellations got me dizzy.
Her beauty was like a rose clinging to life,
enduring the winters rage.
I dreamt we were weightless
like dancing clouds under the stars.
I woke up with my face in the sand.
I guess the shoreline isn't so bad,
when the one you love is on the other side.
Time passed and seasons changed.
Neither one of us really stood a chance.
We would play pretend because reality was like a game of tag.
We promised to stay in a never ending sleep, wandering boundless to a life
we could never have.
Her voice radiates deep causing the ocean to sigh. Forever never felt so short.
So before you run, sing for me softy.
The silence was like a violent wave
and I'm the tide falling more and more away.
It still echoes, the crash of her voice, the distance.
She loved to dance, but loved to run more. We desired to fly but refused to believe.
So we would slow danced to our own imagination.
I guess love is brighter when in black and white.
It's a place where it can't hide, blending in with color. The tress are lonely longing for spring heat. So was I for her skin. Her touch was like a light, exposing my insecurities, leaving me vulnerable in my own imagination.
