The Werewolf (part 2)

A wolf standing upright as a man.....

She should of been terrified. Instead she got out of bed and calmly followed as the wolf turned and left the room. She followed down the stairs, through the hall and the kitchen. The back door opened without the wolfs touch and it left the house.
She screamed. She was in her nightdress in the kitchen, cold from the open back door which she slammed and ran back into the hall. She didn't sleep that night.
In the morning she phoned the British Museum, the only place she could think of, and after some garbled explanation they asked her to send it to them. She got in the car and drove.
The pendant passed through the dusty hands of academics in several dusty departments until an archaeology professor who specialised in north European pre-christian religion became fascinated by it. So fascinated he took it home to study further.
He had promised his wife that he would take her to dinner that night so when he got home he locked it in the safe. The table was for eight so they hustled out the door shouting out "Becca we're off now, won't be long" leaving their daughter in the house alone.
Rebecca was fifteen and it was the 1970's. She spent an hour on the phone to her boyfriend (no mobiles back then) and then ran a bath so she could soak until John Peel came on. Teenage dreams in bubble bath until she felt completely relaxed. Just before ten she wrapped herself in towels and opened the bathroom door. The wolf was waiting.
Again the compulsion to follow was irresistible but Rebecca was fully awake when she met the wolf and as she felt forced to trail its hulking form through the house part of her mind was screaming "NO". As the wolf crossed the threshold into the cold October air the scream reached her lips and it vanished into mist.
The item finished with Sue Lawley saying that after finding their daughter in a state of shock the pendant had been returned to the museum and was now locked in the black vault. The ten year old me wasn't listening.

                                REVELATION! WEREWOLVES ARE REAL!!!!!!!!!!

All I could think of was had my friends seen it. There was only three channels and nobody watched BBC2 so they must of. Thoughts and questions flying in my mind like leaves in a woodland maelstrom. I had to see my mates. Werewolves were real so magic was real and we had to decide what to do. As I went to sleep that night the leaves still flew.
In the morning I knew as soon as I walked into the playground that everybody had seen it. All the boys at least. They were all huddled in the little cadres that get formed in middle school. No balls were being kicked. I ran over to my little group and dived into the conversation. "Do you think it has a human side for daytime?" asked beanpole Paul, good question, "They do in the films" said Micky Pinks. "I don't think this one does, it seems to belong to the stone thing" I chipped in thinking I sounded VanHelsing wise. "What if that woman or the other girl got bitten or scratched?" said Podge "they might, you know, change". "When's the next full moon?" asked Micky.
The fourth of our group was a Scottish lad called Patrick who had only started at the beginning of term. He didn't say much in or out of class but now he said "the next full moon is next Tuesday." his voice was Glasgow harsh and beginning to break. He was taller that all of us. We were listening.
"Next Tuesday I'm going to London. I'm going to kill it. Are any of yus wit me". A question with the weight of a bomb.
