The Window & The Curtains

When the sun went down at nightfall the man drew the curtains closed. The room was now cast in lovely dim glow as he lit the candle for light. He prepared a romantic meal and set it on the table for an evening for the two of them. The lady came over and they ate and drank and danced late into the night. The curtains kept them company all night and loved the lovely couple of the evening. Late at night the lady went home, and the man was left all alone. The dark room was draped by the pretty curtains as he blew out the light and went to bed. All night long the man dreamt blissful dreams of love and happiness while the moon and stars shined brightly above in the dark night sky. The curtains kept a lonely vigil of the dear soul while he slept and they said to themselves, 'Who is as splendid as the two of us? We are the greatest and most beautiful of all!' Yet early in the morning the sun broke bright and rosy in the east and the man awoke happy and rested after a good night's sleep. He drew back the curtains and he looked at the lovely morning sun shining brilliantly outside. The birds were singing in the trees and happy people walked all about in the street outside. Some were off to work while others were out and about to do their early morning shopping. The world was a bright and lovesome place this early in the day as the splendid sunshine shone in through the delicate soft window. 'Who is as splendid as the two of you, you ask yourself?' the windowpane asked of the two lovely curtains now drawn wide open the let the bright sunshine in. 'Why I am of course,' replied the beautiful window. 'For although you make them happy at night, it is I who lets the sun in come the morning. It is me who fills the day with sights of love and wonder all day long. It is me after all who is the most splendid sight of all to behold.' And still the sun shined in happily through the windowpane and all the world was in peaceful wonder outside. True happiness and joy do not always come from within. Sometimes a new view on the world is all loving souls need after all. Let the light of happiness shine on forever in your hearts. There is a whole world of wonder and enchantment right outside you very own window. Let a little light in and fill your days with joy always.
