The Winters Night

It's pitch black when I start to drift slowly falling. Only the nights and moons children roam about this late. We dance the tango on our way down to earth, above us the moon comes out of our homes castle and casts an eerie glow across the deserted fields. Suddenly a swift strong wind gusts me aside, causing fear, to pump through my icy tendrils because I got separated from my family. Whistling down, as fast as the speed of light. Crash I skid along the ground falling to a slow stop.
Shuffle Jack Frost adds finishing touches to the scene just as early sun rays burst through the freezing night.
Birds sing and soon the gasps of children looking outside can be heard echoing around.  Soon the children sprint out into our icy grips, encasing them we cling to their shoes. We crunch under foot. Crack I'm scrunched into a snowball and am sent flying through the air, I murmur to the towering trees telling them about my day. I hit impact and then I shatter with a thump falling to the ground. Us snowflakes aren’t the only ones having fun. The children are giggling like they have heard the funniest joke in the world. Milly a miniature Muggle merrily marches searching for Jack Frost and his friend, the wind. She won’t find him anytime soon. Sighing sulkily she gives up. It’s over too soon, the sun's boiling rays hit me I evaporate drifting up, back home into the clouds.
