The thing that ate the world

There once was a little girl with a wish. Her wish was so simple and yet so impossible. Looking around one day she realized that this world was too small minded for the dream to become reality. She was met with negativity everywhere she turned. She came a crossroad; either she forgets about her dream and conforms or she leaves. She chose to stay. As the little girl grew a hole started to appear where the dream once had been. It grew and grew and grew. The hole would scare her as it would follow her everywhere she went. One night the girl noticed that the hole had taken a new appearance. It had become some sort of portal.

As she stared into the hole she saw a pair of red glowing eyes and an old hagly hand emerge slowly. Her heart sank as she saw this thing come out and begin to consume everything. This thing consumed and took everything back into the hole with it, including the poor girl.

A hole created by conformity and a broken dream. And to think that the only thing the little girl wished for was for everyone to love each other and live in peace.
