Traveling

He was a misfit from the start, the peoples nobody, gentle with purpose, and smart as a whip. A hard worker, but lost every job he ever had on account he was too thoughtful. Generous to a fault, a rough man in his late forties, and broke. His pet peeve was smelling good, and he had a bad habit of correcting people when not asked.
Like a square peg in a round hole, Harry Steps was out of place every place he tried to fit in. Maybe it was because for a loner he smelt good, and for a bum, he was very thoughtful and helpful. Like most fish out of water, harmless enough, and easily forgotten. That was before he corrected a perfect stranger name Deloris. While talking to herself in a loud kind of way, she was between minds as to do this or that, when Harry made a correction in her hypothesis. Feeling that her choices were too limited based on the words falling from her lips, he told her it might be better to do this rather then that for these reasons, and because he had a willing ear, which was a first, Harry began in earnest to set her straight.
Shocked that he had a willing ear, and grinning from ear to ear, he got out right comfortable with Deloris long before he even knew her name. The turn of events was more then Deloris could hope for, and just then a tear drop came to her eyes that brought Mr. Steps to a grueling holt. My name is Deloris in her high pitch but low voice she replied. Hi, my name is Harry Steps, sorry if I have offended you, it was not, and before he could finished, she ask if she could buy the two of them a drink, cause she was over whelm by the kindness showed her. Realizing that the tears were for other reason then first thought, Harry began to crank right back up on the place best suited for the drinks.
Turns out, Deloris parents had died and left her so much money she could not spend it all in two lifetimes, and the deaths of both parents put her in a tail spin that left her frail for thinking and too much so for choices. After a quick drink, and a bit more chit chat, Harry and Deloris became an answer to each other more so then if Nature herself put them together. Before long, charm from Deloris was followed by the manly smells of a man with more then enough directions to keep a woman like Deloris both in form and in pace.
Deloris wanted to see her parents resting place one last time, before setting out to see the sights and sound her childhood always wanted to experience, and Harry was right beside her to guide her every step, with help and words and or both. They became a Traveling pair, and money made sure they could do it within reason and still be generous towards others while keeping Deloris happy and loved.
