Turn by Turn

Mrs. Agnes had two sons, who worked abroad. They all were married and financially well settled. Mrs. Agnesâs husband Mr. Samson, 80 years old, was admitted in hospital for old age illness. Here at home, there was no one to support her though she continued to receive any amount she wanted for the treatment.
The priest was there to give the sacrament âanointing of the sickâ. After receiving the sacrament, the priest asked Mr. Samson to know if he had any wishes left. He said he wanted to meet his sons.  Mrs. Agnes, knowing that Mr. Samsonâs condition is getting worse and anything can happen anytime, and that it was the last wish of Mr. Samson to meet his sons, she phoned up her sons abroad, informing them that any time their dad can die, though he is conscious. Mrs. Agnes was, in turn, asked by her sons, after having discussion amongst themselves,  to get in touch with their dad to confirm whether he would like to meet them when he is conscious or he would like them to be there for the funeral as they were not able to visit their hometown twice. Mr. Samson got the point rightly. He left it to his sons to decide who should meet him while he is conscious and who would attend the funeral. After all, Mr. Samson always loved his children very much and he never wanted to be a cause for their inconvenience.Â

Hello P.L. Jaison...
The heart of a very lonely elderly person...
All alone with no family...
Very touching and very sad...
A lot of times when they share stories with caregivers that only get a shrug in response...
Thank you for sharing...
Hugs...
