Twelve White Roses

Nadia.
This week was a really bad one. Monday, I was kicked off the cheerleading squad. Tuesday, my phone was stolen. Wednesday, my bra slipped in gym class exposing all of me. Thursday, I had a fight with my boyfriend. Today was way worse. Today is Friday. Also know as: the day we get our test results back from the final exam. Guess what I got. Yep. A big, fat, bold F. I studied hard for that test and I still failed. And to add to all the embarrassment of the previous days, I was the only one in my class to fail. All in one week, my life took a turn downhill.
I got home from school and realized I locked myself out of the house. I didn't have a phone anymore so I couldn't call anyone. My mom doesn't come home from another six hours! I could take a bus to Solange's house. Or I could just sit here for six hours?
"Excuse me. Are you Nadia Rose?" Someone asked behind me. I turned around. I didn't even hear anyone walk up.
"Yes." I said. "I am Nadia Rose."
"This is for you." He handed me a small blue box. "Sign here please." He handed me a clipboard also. I signed and handed it back to him. "Have a good day, m'am."
"I wish." I said under my breath. What could this be? Who could it be from? I rotated the little box about three times trying to find the little sticky note that tells you who sent it. There wasn't one. Should I open it? What if it's something bad? What if it explodes?! I am have an unlucky week .. I weighed every possible option. An unknown box was sent to me ... I decided to open it anyways. I took the lid off slowly. Just in case. Inside was a lot of pastel blue paper. Wrapping paper? Someone sent me a box full of blue wrapping paper? Well at least it's my favorite color. I started to close the box when I saw something white at the top. I moved layers of blue paper to see my favorite kind of rose. A beautiful, full white rose. I picked it up and smelled it. It was a fresh picked rose. I smiled to myself. Who would do something like this? I thought of my boyfriend, Chris. This must be his way of saying sorry for the fight. How sweet! Like this rose. I smelled it again then noticed a little powder blue card peeping behind some of the wrapping paper. I pulled it out. Written in cursive were the words "Nadia Rose." written in black ink across the top. I opened it. Inside was a little white card that read, "I'm sorry that you've been having a few bad days, but Life is never easy, and never will be. The twists and turns of life may seem unfair and mean to you, but with a true spirit and a friend, you shall soon be seeing your bright days." Nobody signed it. I smiled at the note. I turned it over and there was more on the back. "P.S. Check under the mat.", it said. I lifted the mat up and my key was there. I must of left it somewhere and Chris found it for me! I unlocked the door and went up to my room. I took the rose out of the box and placed it in a vase on my dresser next to the window. I sat the card next to it. I sat on my bed and wondered how my life just got a little bit brighter with one card and One White Rose.
