I Wish to "Waste" my Time
On Tuesday, I wished for a new outcome.
On Wednesday, I wished for a re vote.
On Thursday, I wished for a strong protest.
On Friday, I wished they would not be rude.
On Saturday, I wished I slept longer.
On Sunday, I wished this week to be a good one.
Today, I wish for a revolution.
Many of us, including me, wanted a different president.
You can roll your eyes and call me a bitchy millennial, yes.
Or you can open your eyes and see my fear,
but I shan't waste my time with such frivolous wish.
Instead, I will "waste" my time fighting for a better tomorrow.
I will "waste" my time fighting for my brother's rights.
I will "waste" my time fighting for my special needs sister's rights.
I will "waste" my time fighting for my black friends' rights.
I will "waste" my time fighting for my own, female rights.
I will "waste" my time fighting for my Muslim classmate's rights.
I will "waste" my time fighting for my Mexican friends' rights.
I will "waste" my time fighting for every single LGBTQIA persons' rights.
I will "waste" my time fighting to make a change, because it is what I wish to do.
At least I can say I have an end goal, do you?
