“If I could, through myself, set your spirit free”

Harmony isn't two mirrors staring into each other's eyes. It isn't rocks too set in their ways to dance. It's a system of unique pieces cooperating to create something bigger than themselves by valuing what each component adds. The problems arise when I project my truth and path on to others. I don't have to be the same as someone to work with and appreciate them. I can be myself and allow others to be themselves. I can listen to someone without becoming them, I can entertain an idea without internalizing it.
I can create a better world; I can end the cycle of duality by helping other people realize that we're all in it together. When someone approaches me looking to fight, I will do everything I can to help them remember the serenity of love. “I won’t head the battle call, it puts my back up against the wall”. “The idea is not to confront bad ideas but to come up with good ideas. Otherwise, your enemies define the game and you are the loyal opposition.” Everyone is the hero in their own story and if they perceive me as the villain, I will help them realize that isn’t the way it has to be.
I can ultimately care about everyone; even the people I don’t initially see myself in, the people I don’t like, the people who don’t seem to deserve to be cared about, the people who don’t care about others. I can care about everyone. There is a way to help and nurture everyone. There are no villains, they are merely victims of misunderstanding, fear, and a lack of education/experience. I need to create a better world, not destroy an imperfect one; I need to heal a broken person, not amputate a poisoned limb from societies body. Through the alchemy of love, I can create gold where once there was ash.
