Just a different approach

This will offend some people and it's actually not meant to be offensive; it's meant to make you think.
If you're more concerned about the number associated to the "mass murder" you're missing the point.
People just going about their daily lives were killed, in mass. People, celebrating birthdays and relationships were killed with out warning or provocation.
It's not a competition.
People have lost loves and family.
Not in war or combat but, undefended and unaware of a threat. Stop being concerned about what was worse; recognize the need in society. The fact that these things occur regularly, terrifyingly regularly, should be eye opening enough.
Humanity has a history of atrocious deeds devised and executed worldwide. In fact, it's our most consistent occurrence. We are constantly on the verge of advancement in the medical and mechanical fields. Conversely, we should be overcoming old wars and building new bridges. Not dying over disagreements thousands of years in the making.
There is simply no real excuse to be fighting the same wars millennium later.
I can only hope, we recognize our failures soon enough to correct them. Before, we destroy everything meant to be left behind for those after us.
I say this not out of concern for my life, my time here won't be long enough to appreciate the change. However, if I put forth all I have in efforts to better myself and those I interact with. I may one day bask in the understanding that those I leave behind will not suffer as we did, because they were not thier sins to be suffer for. If we overcome our own issues and selfish habits we might put another first; at a time when no other would. Saving a life, rather than: giving reason to take one.
It is a difficult wish with an unending line of complications.
But, that's the beauty of a wish; they need not be possible, only imaginable.
