Mailbox

My mailbox is gone
I think someone stole it
Not just the box
But the post
and the holes filled.

Who would do this
that's really what scares me
what motivates someone
to take something they don't need

Maybe they did it
because they don't have one
if they would have asked me
I would have bought one for them
but someone just took it
and I wish that they didn't

And I wish that my mailbox
would just come home to me.
