My wish came true

My extraordinary wonderful Christmas gift from my granddaughter........ just like everyone, I've spent too much. Even though I preach to my children and grandchildren Christmas shouldn't be materialistic, I fear it has become and I fall into this trap like everyone else. Tonight my daughter and granddaughters and I went out for a bite to eat up town. A series of mishaps made the evening hilarious. Rushing out I forgot my coat. Now the walk, or wheelchair ride to and from where the car was parked was far enough on this cold evening. The next thing I knew my 12 year old granddaughter, who was pushing me took her coat off and wrapped it around my shoulders. I was overwhelmed by this beautiful gesture of love. It reminded me one snowy winters evening. My daughter, myself and a very little 7 month old granddaughter got stranded in the snow and had to walk about a mile home. Ill prepared for the snow, I took my sheepskin coat off and wrapped it around my granddaughter. I wouldn't let my daughter, as my granddaughter needed her healthy and well, more than she did me. I hadn't thought about this until tonight. Toyah you are worth every sacrifice and every penny I have ever given you. Thank you for your love. A love that has been a constant light in the darkness xx Nichola Hoy-Smith and Sheldon Smith well done indeed and a very Merry Christmas to you both x
