A new world
It’s not easy how to feel at times,
Sure you all feel the same.
Society makes slaves of us all,
I wonder who's to blame?
The people pull the strings,
The others take the fall,
If I reach out to you now,
Would you take the call?
They make all the rules,
We all follow blind.
Never questioning the why,
They prey we'll never find.
A reason to rise up,
The people sing as one,
The words will give us power,
Like bullets from a gun.
The idols from our past,
Had the strength to say what’s right,
We listen but don’t hear,
The message was lets fight.
The system doesn't work,
Like honey to the bee.
We work hard for a queen,
Please just set us free.
If you don’t know what I mean,
Lets go through my list.
Each one a symbol,
A candle in the mist:
Lets start with Jonny Cash,
A diamond in the rough.
It wasn't till he died,
We couldn’t get enough.
The 60's was a golden time,
When love was free for all.
A new sound on the way,
"John Lennon this is Paul".
Can you even imagine?
When they were both apart.
Sure destiny would find a way,
A new sound defined as art.
Since that point in time,
Sure there’s been a few.
But if we're really honest,
None as good as you.
I will keep on dreaming,
Burning passion kept inside my heart.
If we want to make a change,
Then this song is the start.

I loved the flow and rhyming of this piece Grant. It really showcases your talent and also has wise words for the reader to understand and enjoy. It`s very well written sweetie and it`s a really enjoyable read. You also talk of my all time favourite song writers and they are my favourite group. John Lennon`s song ` Imagine ` is just beautiful, but my favourite song by them is ` Girl `. I`m really enjoying your work honey and I`m pleased that I found them, it will take me a while to read and comment on them all but I will do it I promise.

I truly believe in the power of music and sometimes when I watch or listen to an artist I get overwhelmed. To witness the talent they have gives me faith in humanity. The special ones all seem to be taken far too early, but thats maybe part of what made them special. A conflicted soul or flawed genious maybe. I have a soft spot for the people who speak up against the establishment like Jonny Cash and John Lennon. Glad you enjoyed it.Â
