Outnumbering all the sad

If I had a wishing well
I would wish the world free
Free of all sickness
Free of all grief
I’d wish for hunger to be no more
I’d wish for sorrow and fear to leave
I’d vanquish all pain
So all would be relieved
If I had a wishing well
This would be a better place
Filling hearts with love
Hatred forever replaced
No wishing well for me
But all is not so bad
There lives a world of happiness
Outnumbering all the sad
Those of us who love
The harder we must strive
To reach out to those in need
A way to spare a life
We do not live in Candy Cane Land
There are no wishing wells or magical potions
Taking away the sorrows or tear-filled oceans
We must look at what we are blessed with
Friends and family we hold dear
When all is said and done
They are what keep your going, year after year
