There are certain places where you can be helped with your writing as a grant assistance. You could type in your questions on the internet and ask about that particular help with recognition and payment. I'm also a writer of poetry and children's stories. Both of these are very competitive and tough to break into different publishing companies, especially when many do not accept the materials many of have submitted. Good luck. I hope everything works out nicely for you.
I've heard its difficult to break into especially if you don't have the connections. I've tried before but it's hard to find the right publishing co. Thank you for your kind words and good luck to you as well. I'd like to read some of your published work if I could.
Thanks for your interest. Would love to share my writing with you. I have always been geared more towards stories for children, and I usually compose each story as short as I can. Children, as I'm sure you will know, tend to have a very short attention span, therefore, I decided it was best to make them as short as possible. I always write stories that rhyme, not on purpose necessarily. It's just how the words keep flowing. I have 85 children's stories which are meaningful to me, and I'm hoping to have at least 1 or 2 published. I also write poetry, and for some odd reason they usually end up being as romance---love verses, and since I'm not in love or even romantic---LOL---I'm quite surprised with those unexpected results. I have a dedicated collection of 600 poems. One I had written many years ago was titled, God Bless The USA, and since the lyrics are entirely different than Lee Greenwood's composition I was accepted for publication. Then it was published and produced as a country western song and when I had won the contest I was rewarded with 300 CD copies. I like to hand these out just to get different feedback and opinions. Something quite wonderful that happened for me is having The Band Perry viewing this material. I pray everyday that they might actually accept it. Please let me know if there's any advice I can give you. I've been writing since the age of 15. one thing so very important, always pay attention to the con artists and scams. Hope to hear from you again.
thats really fortunate. I had a song that was due to be produced by a nashville music production company years ago but they wanted me to fit the bill for the singer and the musicians, so i said no obviously. ive had two of my poems published by Noble House London and by The International Library of Congress in compilation volumes but i couldnt attend the the contest in virginia for poetry.com years ago. And yes i know what you mean. my daughter is 5 and her attention span is about as long as an invisible rope lol ive been writing since i was 11 so theres no telling how many ive written over the years, but writing is a passion of mine and i cant foresee an end to it. And youre right, there are alot of scams out there so be safe.
