Simple but unrealistic

When the lights go out
And the tears roll down
I look outside my window 
to a sky full of stars 
I stare for a minute
and then another
and another 
but cannot see you
They told me you'd be looking down
They told you'll be there
but every night I look out my window
to an empty sky of stars
I wish upon the brightest star 
To swap with you
just for a second, thankfully a minute 
so I know your doing ok
I wish i didn't have to wish
But that's what wishing is for
