TO MY YOUNGER SELF

I wish I could leave this note to my younger self
Sassy little Sarah, how are you my dear? This world you’re building, build it with care. Don’t let anyone hammer it down, don’t be afraid to let them get close but don’t you disregard this wall it will keep you out of harm’s way.
They say your chest gets lighter as the weight gets lighter if you share it. I am telling you not to be afraid to laugh but don’t depend on others to make you laugh. They too can make you cry, no one would care for your well being more than me dear.
You can live, love and laugh just don’t ever lose yourself, you can protect your heart and no one knows it better than you. It hurts when you are passionate about something and it fails you, it flutters when you care. Pay attention to its rhythm, only you can hear.
Be your own happiness, strive for the things you want, don’t let anyone tell you that you are less than yourself because you deserve the utmost best. I want you to know what I wish I knew when I had time on my side like you do.
I know. I know you listen to others while thinking, “Well that was you! It doesn’t have to be the same for me!” And you believe in learning from your own mistakes. But little lady I am you and you are me, heed my words it was written after all by both you and I. Take care now

:) thank you, yea i too was pretty stubborn. i would listen to others i wasn't rude but i had this mentality "like leave me, will you? you lived and learn let me make my own mistakes so i can learn too"Â
A lovely idea and a lovely poem, thought provoking.
