The Wishing Well

In the deepest, darkest of all wishing wells, there lives a dream

I wish for this dream to be true, when I throw down the copper penny

And I hear it fall so far away, when it finally comes to the very bottom

I want to be a mermaid, to swim the oceans and the sea, fall in love with the whales

The dolphins, and the fish that swim near me, I want to breathe the air and lay on the rocks

Sunbathe in the early morning, and swim the cool of the waters deep

Longing for beauty, I want my hair to be long and flowing, golden sun ray of shine

My eyes the color of the ocean blue, and my breasts so firm and perked for the day

Let my skin be of peaches and cream, and my fin be the most vibrant, with iridescent gleem

I am standing on my tip toes right now looking down into the wishing well

Now I throw my penny in, and suddenly I fall in, and when I come back up for air

My wish has come true, I bring my head above the water, and see the oceanside

Now I smile, that smile so divine, and swim my hearts content for the rest of my life

No longer will I pretend
