Dakota

This is my first painting for 2016 and completed for an Exhibition "People and Portraits" which opens on Wednesday.  Loved the way the colour of the hat turned out as I used my new colour English Rose for the first time.  Of course mixed with Alizarin and Vermillion reds as well then Viridian for depth.  I am not an American, but her face was given to me as I did NO prelim. drawings but started with the hat and then worked with a brush from there.  This one is a gift for sure, there is such knowledge in those eyes!
